Irish Mail on Sunday "Great Escape" article

"Hippy Days"
"Things are set to change as touring the highways and byways of Ireland is about to become far more interesting and nostalgic. Its all thanks to the arrival on the scene of Maizy and Sue, two classic VW camper vans at Retro Rentals. Both are brand new, having come all the way from the VW factory in Brazil and are not 30 year old vans that have benefited from a face-lift.
Each one sleeps 4, with a double bed and a rock'n'roll pull out bed. These two ladies are also kind on the environment and can be run on biofuel as well as regular unleaded. Retro Rentals prices start from €90 per day and to book click on www.retrorentals.ie"
Maizy's first public appearance.
Maizy got a taste for the stardom at the recent Holiday World Show in the RDS Dublin at the end of January. Many thanks for all the interest and to all the fun people we met.
Happy Campers written by Paddy Digham, Travel Editor
The Irish Daily Star Wed February 20th 2008.
Retro Rentals is a brand new concept for Irish Tourism – the country’s first Volkswagen classic camper rental company.
The company’s 2008 registered fleet is manufactured in the Volkswagen plant in Brazil, then imported to Ireland.
Customers are being offered the chance to leave their hectic lives behind and travel the Irish countryside in relaxed and enjoyable style. Each camper van is uniquely named (Maisie being the most recent arrival) and offers adventure, imagination and fun through its original personality.
Each camper contains a whole host of home comforts, including a modern hob and grill, fridge freezer and a sink with electric pumped water. A mains hook up is preformed on site to give you plenty of additional power, while all the campers are fitted with an independent air heater. You can even soundtrack your holiday using an iPod dock and CD player.
All the campers can be run on bio-fuel as well as regular unleaded, giving the peace of mind to know that Ireland’s beauty is being protected while you explore.
Campers can house up to four people, as the rear bench seat converts into a double bed, with a second double bed in the raising roof. An awning is supplied to accommodate an additional two people, while still leaving room for visiting friends.
